Central Library maintains a book bank mainly of graduate level text books to help students belonging to economically and socially weaker sections of the society. The bank has two collections namely (I) Special Collection (BC) for SC/ST Students (ii) Technological Lending Library.
Students can borrow up to 5 books from this collection for a period of one semester. The library issues a Circular in the beginning of every Semester and the eligible students may apply to avail the benefit as per the schedule announced by therein.
The Central Library offers photocopying service to all its members, walk-in users and others.
Only single copy of journal articles and book chapters are provided for private study and research purpose.

The Photocopying Unit is available in library and its timings as follows:
9.30 am – 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm – 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday
The textbooks / course books as recommended by the faculty are kept in the “Study Room Collection” near at the circulation counter book stack for the period specified by the faculty. These books can be used only in the library against Identity Card. Students can borrow one book at a time from this collection for an overnight study and return the same on the next day by 2 pm. A late fee of Rs. 10.00 per day is charged for overdue book (Rs. 20/- during examination period).
The library takes an active part in the orientation programme organized by the institute for the benefit of new students in the beginning of academic year. They are taken around the library to familiarize them with various resources and services available for them. Training sessions are also organized whenever a new product or service is introduced.

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is an initiative by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for creating course contents in engineering, science, humanities and social science.. NPTEL provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of engineering education in the country by providing free online courseware. Over 250 courses are already available for viewing and 1000+ courses are being planned.
